It is odd, that for an industry that is possibly the most 'leading edge' in the world, our plant and equipment has, first and foremost, to withstand the most basic of problems - air, water, fire and earth. To those stresses you can add vibration, heat, and steam ... not to mention meddling technicians, vandals and in Africa, elephants!
All of this means that 'one size' does not 'fit all'. In thirty years of external plant engineering, I have seen the most perfectly designed, specified and tested mass production equipment in almost every product group fail in day-to-day use.
While we are smarter now, better science, amazing CAD-CAM, sophisticated tooling and calibration, our equipment still needs to better the natural forces, which themselves are evolving, for example increasing air and ground toxicity.
So, at ACT, environmental management means more than ISO14000. In addition to our own laboratory, engineering and test facilities, we hope we have all the ingenuity and 'can do' needed to economically solve your particular operational performance and reliability problems - be it right from initial concept to production & packaging, or just taking an existing product and reworking it to the required non-standard shape and size.
For example, we have :
