Fibre Optic/Power Distribution Enclosure

ACT Communications in Maidstone, Kent have just added a new Fibre Optic/Power Stainless Steel enclosure to their range of products. It was originally developed for underground applications with rail tunnels in mind. ACT are now taking the product one step further and adapting it to suit the Petro Chemical industries.
ACT have invested extensively in research and development and with the help of the UK's leading test house, the enclosure has achieved a list of test certificates, such as IP67 ingress, Br967 vibration (cat.D), Ria 20 random vibration (cat 2) and Optical fibre testing RAC/ENG/SPC/0010.
The enclosure itself is fireproof with all of the component parts made of incombustible materials. Entrance to the unit is via a removable lid, which is kept watertight by a compression seal. Cable entry is obtained by either the main mechanical compression transit block system for loop or main cables, or the four smaller 32mm glands for distribution or junction cables.
The internal components can be mounted on an optional, fully removable backboard, again made from stainless steel, which can be adapted to suit a wide range of applications.
